Dog Days of Summer

July 10, 2012

Gracious Living Day by DayIt has been hot in our part of the country. Very hot.

Part of my extended family (the intrepid members, I should add!) spent a week at our cottage near Lake Michigan. The cottage has no air-conditioning.

I could go into excruciating detail and tell you how uncomfortable and miserable we were every second that we weren’t submerged in the warm lake waters.

Or I could just show you a few pictures of Kaya, my sister’s Siberian Husky, who although she got a short summer haircut was feeling the heat much more than we could even imagine.

Kaya - pretending she was in dark, cold Siberia Kaya – pretending she was in dark, cold Siberia Laying all day under a cool, wet towel Laying all day under a cool, wet towel Kaya and Joe, commiserating Kaya and Joe, commiserating

And the summer has only started!

We don’t have A/C at the place I live in Ann Arbor for the summer – so I know how Kaya feels!

=)

Hi Liliana – A swim in the lake must have been wonderful for you all. It has been just as hot in DC. Does Kaya like going into the lake? She looks like a fit swimmer 😉 Cheers, Loi

Kaya loves the lake. But it was so hot last week that she mostly stayed indoors, sleeping under a wet towel.
Hugs to you, Loi.

Oh, you mean like swimming and boating and eating Mexican food and going to every bad movie that the old theater was showing? We did those things too. And we had fun, despite the heat.
